Getting enough to eat?

A woman bought a parrot but it never talked.  The store owner suggested buying a mirror.  Then a ladder.  Then a swing.  Nothing worked.  Finally the parrot died.  The store owner said, “Didn’t he ever say a word?”  The woman said, “Yes.  Right before he died, he said, ‘Don’t they sell any food at that pet store?’”

Are you a starving Christian?  Here’s my prescription: Eat the spiritual food that God has given you in the Bible.  When you’re spiritually stagnant, you forget how much God celebrates you.  Your self-esteem becomes warped because you’re truth-starved!  Do you worry about your outside appearance?  Jesus always looks inside.  When your inside is right, your outside world looks a whole lot better.

“Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.  But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.” Hebrews 5:13-14 (NIV)
